Habitable Spaces will be an artists’ residence with a difference – as a working farm, trading post, sustainable research outpost and as an experiment in collective living.

Each artist will be invited to design and construct their own shelter on site – with very few rules curtailing the outcome! – and will be expected to work a minimum of 4 hours per day or 3 days per week on the farm. In our first residency period we aim to admit 6 artists, increasing to 12 in subsequent years.

Work will begin on the site in January 2012 with the first artists being invited to build their own ‘habitable spaces’ in the fall of 2012.
