SUMMERFEST 2022: TALES FROM TEXAS



Please join us on Saturday, June 4th for our 7th annual Summerfest at Habitable Spaces.

2PM: GATES OPEN

Angie and Matt Fox will be cooking up some pulled pork and roasted veggie sandwiches for hungry visitors.

Our bar will be serving beer, wine, tea and lemondade while DJ Shane spins records.


3PM: Relax to the tunes of the Smooth Vibrations Band


3:30 PM: Jose Dominguez from the Indigineous Cultures Institute will start things off with the creation story of the Coahuiltecans people of South Central Texas. Storyteller Larry Thompson will introduce himself with a few of his cowboy poems.


4:00 The Smooth Vibrations Band will take the stage again to lend some music to your afternoon.


4:30 Larry Thompson will lead a story telling workshop to teach people how to craft an entertaining story of their own.


5:00 Open mic for story tellers guided by Larry Thompshon and Maria Shiel


7:30 Live music in the film field by Kingsbury’s very own Traintown, with special guests CT and Anani.


8:30 We will finish off the day with a short film called “Architecture of the Petroleum Age, or Wishful Thinking” and the feature film “True Stories”.
