SUMMERFEST 2022: TALES FROM TEXAS

Please join us on Saturday, June 4th for our 7th annual Summerfest at Habitable Spaces. Each year we invite a curator to pick the theme of the festival, along with movies, music and workshops that revolve around that subject. This year we have decided to let you be the curator, with Tales from Texas - a festival devoted to the people, stories, songs and films of Texas. We will focus on stories that tell the personal or family histories from the diverse fabric of the South-Central Texas Area. The festival will kick off at 2PM with a workshop on storytelling led by Seguin storyteller Larry Thompson, followed by live music by Kingsbury’s very own Traintown, with special guests CT and Anani. There will be an open mic for stories from our audience about their personal family histories in Texas. We will finish off the day with a short film called “Architecture of the Petroleum Age, or Wishful Thinking” and the feature film “True Stories”. Come join us for a day of live music, delicious food, great films, and tales of all kinds from Texas.

Do you have a tale to tell? If you have a story about the history of the area from your family's perspective, we want to hear it! We will have an open mic for all tales, big and small.
